BEYOND BASIC BATHING | Beauty

Throughout the week I mainly reside at my boyfriends house, but of course I can't haul every single product I own there so it's often a game of back and forth which usually ends up in me forgetting or losing things. When I'm at my boyfriends, one of the things I miss most is the ability to relax in a bath for however long I like whilst having the luxury of picking out any products I own from my stash which is now currently neatly organised (we'll see how long that lasts).

Sometimes, weekly at least, a long and perhaps over-indulgent bath is needed, we're women, that's what we do! Men may not understand it but it is a fundamental part of our weekly routine where we don't just wash, we pamper. As part of this evening pamper I like to ensure I have a good hot bubble bath, usually with the help of a Lush bath bomb but this time I was all out and had to improvise, a book to read and some candles lit.

Last night's line up, shown above, consisted of the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Cleansing Balm - the perfect pampering partner due to its therapeutic smell and it's skin softening offerings. Once the cleansing balm is removed I follow this up with a face mask, usually one of two - Glam Glow or REN. REN's Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask was on the rosta last night as my skin had some serious perking up to do. Along with the face mask comes the hair mask, this time being the Lee Stafford Argan Oil Deep Nourishing Treatment, not my favourite but perfect for my keeping my freshly chopped locks looking just that, fresh. I apply the mask to the lengths of the hair after washing with V05's Plump it Up shampoo and relax with a book, face mask on, hair mask on.

I'm currently reading Rachel's Holiday by Marian Keyes which is probably not my usually choice but one of the funniest books I have read in a long time! I'd highly recommend this for a holiday read which is where I discovered it residing on my iPhone following an accident which involved standing on my Kindle...

Moving on I remove the face mask with said flannel and wash away the mask. My body needs some serious attention following the effects of all that sun on holiday, whilst I like to preserve a tan I'm not into feeling all dry and scaly so I wash & scrub away with Soap & Glory's The Sugar Crush range using both the wash and the scrub, the smell of these blows me away each time. Last but not least I apply some intensive conditioner in the form of Soap and Glory Glad Hair Day conditioner, I wash away and I'm ready to go.... or at least, get out.

What's on your bathing line up?

  1. I totally agree with you about missing certain products when staying at boyfriends' house. I've given up transporting stuff back and forth when I stay round my boyfriend's as I always end up losing much loved cosmetics haha. I really want to try the Ren Radiance Renewal Mask I must remember to pick that up as I've heard such good reviews on it x
