tumblr, music, instagram // inspiration #2

enjoying a burger, or three, at Handmade Burger Co. in Birmingham after Beyonce

I don't think these are the kind of blog posts people like, I know these aren't the kind of blog posts people Google, but hey, when I started blogging I was talking to myself anyway, so who cares. I really like having a bit of a pour out on paper (?) about what I've been up to and what I've been enjoying recently annnnd I usually like these kind of posts from other people so I'm gonna do them anyway. I'm not going to force them but I guess they'll show up every month or so. I'm just gonna share pictures, inspiration, music and all. that. jaaaazz....

music

So last time I shared a playlist - which I'm still gonna do buuuut I wanted to talk albums instead, then I'll pick a couple of songs from each album which stood out for the playlist...

 Metronomy – The English Riviera

Okay so it's not a new album and it isn't new to me by far but recently it's stood out to me. It reminds me of the sea and all things beachy and it's just.... you know so, English.

Bombay Bicycle Club - So long, see you tomorrow

A band I've seen countless times and a new album, therefore it must be discussed. I haven't given this hours and hours of listening, just a couple of listens to the full album and on first listen.... its Bombay Bicycle Club but it's... electro/synthier (not a word, more of a name of Angelica's doll) than ever... theres definitely some eastern european influences with some synth and beats in there. I don't know if it's too different for the fans or not, for me I'll take it. I don't know if it's going to be one of those albums I love forever, but hey, it may be a grower.

Lorde - Pure Heroine

Okay so I feel like I shouldn't like it but I do, it feels like a guilty pleasure when it shouldn't. It's unexpected, it's fresh, it's new. I like the beats, I always fall for rhythmic singing,  hook, line and sinker (rhythmic singing isnt a thing but in my head it definitely is). I like that it feels a bit hip hop (its definitely not) and it's something your foot's tapping to.

HAIM  - Days are Gone

An obvious choice maybe, but a great one. HAIM feels like girl power, I love girls who play guitars, I love girls who play bass, I love bass way too much. I like that its light but its not quite pop. My Song 5 is my ultimate favourite song ever it's so grrrrr. I'm going to Manchester this Friday to the BBC Radio 6 Music Festival so maybe I'll vlog and maybe you'll see some HAIM, maybe. maybe.

Bon Iver - Bon Iver
I had to include Bon Iver, I'm not new to Bon Iver but I am new to his self titled album, which is a few years old. I used to listen to For Emma, Forever Ago quite a lot but I actually much prefer this one. Oddly though I find a lot of it literally fills me with sorrow to the point where I feel I'm going to burst, not sure if I enjoy feeling that way or not, that's a funny thing to wonder about...

So here are your playlists...

What do you think of these posts?
