What I've been Wearing on my Nails

Two weeks ago I had a set of acrylics put on my nails for the first time in around 3 years. I had never really seen the appeal of acrylic nail extensions as I prefer the 'undone' look and always found acrylic nails too obvious and 'fake' looking. However, since the boom of 'stiletto' nails and nail art, I found my nails were constantly snapping and booked the appointment. I was intending to opt for the natural look a la Lily Melrose (llymlrs.com) however I'm rather shy and they ended up a little longer than I would of liked. At first I found the nails really alien and I was unsure of whether I liked them or not, I thought they were too obviously fake and the last thing I want to look is fake or high maintenance. However I have gotten really used to them and have become very fond of them, they paint like a dream and  the polish dries so fast on them, it's like a dream come true.

I opted for a nude gel manicure on my nails and I'm extremely fond of natural nude looking nails but also concluded that this colour would go with pretty much anything and be easy to paint over, since I like to paint my nails at least 3 times a week. The nude gel has a slight shimmer to it and sits waiting patiently beneath my current colour until it's next appearance. I remove any polish I have used on my acrylics with acetone free nail varnish remover and reveal my lovely nude nails ready for painting once again.
