Hey ladies, I thought it was about time I got my act together and started blogging through the week. I'm currently at my boyfriends so I'm blogging from his very lovely macbook which is exciting! This is a post I've been wanting to do for ages but initially I wanted to film it as a video, unfortunately I'm not sure this is going to be possible in the winter as my Canon 400D doesn't film videos and so I chose to film this on the macbook and gradually my audio got more and more out of sync and after an hours worth of attempts I gave up (if anybody can help me out with that technical issue I'd be grateful!) So, with that being said - here's the post! Can I just apologise now for my lack of nail varnish in these photo's, I'm usually never without it and my nails look disgusting!
This is my make-up bag, it's looks relatively small but it's definitely too big to carry around with me in my hand bag as it's rather wide and bulky so I usually just chuck products I think I might need during the day into my hand bag and then they get lost under mounds of receipts and all sorts! This make up bag is from The Body Shop, I got it as a gift a couple of years ago with some shower products in it and never really considered using it as a make up bag until this year - nether the less I am a lover of all things green so it's perfect.
This may shock some of you but this make up bag contains almost all of my make up. I consider all of my make up essential pretty much as I wear a natural face during the day and quite minimal eye make up if I'm out in the evening. I know some of you make up lovers will be shocked that this bag contains all of my make up but I'm not the kind of girl who buys two powders, two bronzers etc. etc. as if I like one product I tend to stick to it until it runs out and I either repurchase or look for something else to try, if I don't like a product I tend to give it away to a friend or family member. At home I do have other eyeshadows etc. lying around and foundations that I haven't liked or don't use any longer.
So, after all that rambling, I guess I better show you what's inside....
I literally turned my make up bag upside down and tipped everything out onto my boyfriends bed here (it did make a bit of a mess but shhh). I didn't want to censor anything or have a root around in my make up bag getting rid of random things which may have gathered in there somehow as I don't think that would be a true reflection of what is in my make up bag... you can see a random pencil lurking about in there so that says it all! I have sorted these things into product categories for you!
L-R Next Gold Lip Balm, Carmex, Kate Moss 04, Topshop Sartorial, MAC Satin M.A.C Red, MAC Matte Ruby Woo, Rimmel 030 Tell No One, L'oreal Colour Riche 302, Urban Decay Lipgloss (free with Naked 2) |
Lips
So I've started off with lip products because lipsticks are my favourite thing ever! There are a few lipsticks missing here as I have a few lying around at home. I received the Next Gold Vanilla Lip Balm as a gift and I guess I just keep tidying my make up away and this keeps jumping in there, it smells gorgeous but I can't say it trumps Carmex as Carmex is 100x more moisturising! Also there in the lipstick collection is a Kate Moss for Rimmel London, this is a really dark lipstick I bought when I was feeling daring. Secondly there is a Topshop lipstick in Sartorial, I have done a full review on this lipstick here. Next are two MAC lipsticks these are both reds - one is matte and one is satin - you can see all the shades and colours below. Rimmel 030 Tell No One was literally my favourite lipstick ever, it was a bright matte coral but it's run out now and I'm sure its been discontinued! The Colour Riche and Urban Decay Lipgloss were both freebies I've got and barely used and were hiding in the bottom of my make up bag!
Eyes
Above are all the eye products currently in my make up bag. Naked 2 doesn't really fit but I still take it everywhere with my make up bag as its perfect for day and night! Bad Lash has run out now I think I might need to get rid of it and it any case it has definitely been superseded by They're Real! which I love. These products are basically what I use on a daily basis - it seems like a lot doesn't it!I don't use the MAC Liquid liner daily - just when I'm going somewhere nice or out on an evening! For my eyebrows I always use brow zings and have rarely used the rimmel pencil as it's too light for me and I think it looks nowhere near as natural as Browzings!
L-R MAC Fascinating Kohl, MAC Graphblack Technikohl, Rimmel Eyebrow pencil |
Haha this was like mine when I just tipped it out and there was alsorts of crap hiding in it - mine had a bracelet too and tweezers etc! I hope you're planning on doing a post on the Bobbi brown foundation stick in the future because I'm intrigued by it and have never used anything other than liquid! :) xx

The other day, while I was at work, my cousin stole
ReplyDeletemy apple ipad and tested to see if it can survive a 25 foot drop, just so she
can be a youtube sensation. My iPad is now destroyed and she has 83 views.
I know this is totally off topic but I had to share it with someone!
